Karlakan is a premium offline naval combat game for iOS and Android. This policy explains what information the game handles. The short version:
Karlakan collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no servers. Nothing you do in the game is ever sent to us or to anyone else over the internet.
Data we collect
None. The game has no server backend and makes no internet connections. We never receive, store, or process any information about you or your device.
Data stored on your device
The game keeps a small amount of data locally on your device so it works as a game:
- Game progress — your campaign progress, gold, upgrades, and power-up stock.
- Settings — your music and sound volume levels.
- Captain name — the nickname you choose for multiplayer duels (defaults to "Captain").
This data lives only in the app's private storage on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Deleting the app deletes it. You can also erase your progress at any time with the in-game Reset Progress option.
Bluetooth multiplayer ("Duel" mode)
Duel mode lets 2–4 nearby players battle each other directly over Bluetooth. It works entirely device-to-device — no internet, no Wi‑Fi, no matchmaking service, and no data ever leaves the connected devices.
While you host or join a duel, the game exchanges the following with the other players' devices:
- Your chosen captain name, so other players can identify you in the lobby. While hosting, this name is broadcast over Bluetooth and may be visible to other Bluetooth devices nearby.
- Gameplay data — ship positions, inputs, and game events needed to run the match.
This exchange is transient: it exists only for the duration of the session and is not recorded by us. Don't use a captain name you wouldn't want nearby players to see.
If you never use Duel mode, the game never uses Bluetooth at all.
Permissions the app requests
- Bluetooth (iOS and Android) — used solely to discover and connect to nearby players for Duel mode.
- Location (Android 11 and earlier only) — older versions of Android require the location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices. Karlakan never reads or uses your actual location; on Android 12+ the app declares its Bluetooth scanning as "never for location" and requests no location permission at all.
- Internet (Android) — a standard permission required by the app's embedded browser engine to display the game from files bundled inside the app. The game makes no connections to the internet.
Children
Karlakan collects no data from anyone, including children. There are no chat features, external links, in-app purchases, or ads.
Third parties
The game contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and shares no data with third parties.
This website
karlakan.cz is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third-party servers.
Changes to this policy
If a future update changes how the game handles data (for example, adding online features), we will update this policy and its effective date before that update ships.
